Making of 'Ancient Kingdom of India'

Dear friends, I am going to show you the steps to create stunning digital painting. So let's start..I will be using Adobe Photoshop CS4. The theme of my digital painting is 'Ancient Kingdom of India'. Somedays back I visited Lavasa,Pune and captured following image, I am going to use following image as my base image.
I searched many images on Google, and tried to find out old Indian forts, buildings, temples. To make the landscape interesting I found out many images of terrains/mountains, some of the images which I finalized are in below image.
Opened Photoshop. With the use of Clone stamp tool, started cloning the green forest from the images I searched on net. please check the image below.
Started adding the trees at left side of the image, and filled the left side mountains with full of forest.
Once Left side done, I started filling the right side mountains and finally my mountains are filled with deep green forest.
Now it's time to add some old Architecture. In Photoshop I used Clone Stamp & Lasso Tool to add Old temple at the left side mountains.

Once added I adjusted its color and then made multiple copies of it and then pasted all over the left side of the mountain.
After that, I adjusted the color of temples with our original base image so that there is perfect blending of multiple images. Then I added fort left side of the mountain.

By the same technique I added temples and fort at the right side of the image, and also added some trees again in the image to fill the gap of buildings and then my image started looking like below.

Then I started adding mountains in the image. Big landscape adds mood in the painting.

Used many mountains and filled the background of the image and then my painting started looking like below image

Now it's time to add life in the sky, hence started painting the sky with many colors, but prominently Blue, Red, Orange, black, white, Yellow. Remember Sky adds mood in our painting!

Now I added the waves in the river and replaced calm looking river, for that I did some painting, and used rocks from another image by same technique which I mentioned in my previous steps.

Last but not the least, to give the sunset effect done lot of Painting, adjusted the colors and shadows, added mist with white color in the mountains. To give dramatic effect, added Ship , added wooden ancient structure, and this is final look of my digital painting.

Thanks for reading, I hope you like my digital art.

Making of Lord Krishna-3D

Sharing with you making of my “Lord Krishna”-3D Art. I used three sofwares Autodesk 3ds max , ZBrush & Photoshop. Autodesk 3ds max & ZBrush are used as a modeling & digital sculpting tool to create high-resolution models to use in movies, games, and animations. Photoshop is image editing software
Following is interface of Autodesk 3ds max, where I have imported two reference images of male body you can see currently two views are enabled (front & side). I started modeling the male model.

Started adjusting mesh, after hours of work, I completed basic human model; my intention here was to just create basic male model, not getting into any details.

Once my model is done I started rigging. Rigging basically means adjusting model for the desired pose. For that you need have bones in the character like we do have! Look at the below image I inserted bones in the character, so I can rotate/bend his hands.

Now I have adjusted the model as per my requirement. My model has started taking Krisha Avatar!

Now it’s time to open Zbrush and import all other ornaments of Krishna, which I modeled in 3d max,by same technique of human modeling. So I imported “Krishna ornaments & Krishna model in Zbrush for further detailing.

You can see pose is now correct like Krishna, but model is very low poly, need detailing of character

So I started sculpting of the each and every model which I imported in Zbursh, started with the face of the model. Added some wrinkles & dimple. Adding dimple is so simple J

Then added some more details in the hands, removed some skin, added some skin to give effect of bones, then removed skin from the palm to give effect of Lifelines of the hands!

And then finally my “Lord Krishna” is model is ready for further texturing and painting to add life!

Started applying basic Skin color, I did not want to use blue skin color, as I thought I should avoid it otherwise my Krishna will look like Avatar characters, so purposefully I avoided it, but that is also good choice. After applying skin texture and doing some painting directly on the model. My Krishna model started looking like “Lord Krishna”

Then again I add some more details on the body of the model so that I can add some more realism in the model. Added some more details in the skin so that it will look real.

Now I started rendering to get final output. Rendering is the final process of creating the actual 2D image or animation from the prepared scene. So I rendered it in different passes which helped me to get different skin colors. Then I composited it in Photoshop, and here is the final output of My 3D Art “ Lord Krishna”. .   I hope you will like my art. J
